At Sunday Assembly we refer to our special interest small groups at “smoups.” It’s a combination of those two words—and it’s just fun to say!
We have a variety of smoups, some older than others, as they are created by folks as their interests move them. Take a look at our current list, and, if you have an idea for a new smoup, feel free to propose it to the group.
Philosophy Smoup
- Discussions of topics both fundamental and topical. Includes a potluck dinner. Our longest running smoup.
Hiking Smoup
- Get out in nature, get some exercise, and chat with fellow hikers in various East Bay parks.
Living Better Book Club
- A casual book club where we choose books related to living better. Mostly.
Help Often Smoup
- Join in on various volunteer activities. Make a difference.

Celebration Music Group
- Good singers and musicians get together to choose and practice the songs for our monthly celebration.
Leadership Meeting
- Our board of directors meetings are open to all members of our Sunday Assembly community. Put in your two cents, and help run this thing!
